Ketoconazole and hair loss

Ketoconazole is a safe, effective treatment for seborrheic dermatitis(common dandruff).  There was some preliminary data that reports it may help hair loss as well. However, this data was never confirmed and there was no clear evidence it helps treat female pattern hair loss. Oral and topical Finasteride, Minoxidil, Platelet rich plasma, and low and high energy laser devices remain medical options to successfully treat male and female pattern hair loss.
